The Chianti Classico Riserva "Rocca Guicciarda" by Ricasoli is a full-bodied and intense red wine, aged for 16 months in barrique. Notes of ripe red fruit and fruit in spirits integrate with herbaceous and toasted nuances in a warm, broad, and intense taste, with good complexity.

The Chianti Classico Riserva "Rocca Guicciarda" is one of the flagship wines of the Ricasoli winery, a true piece of history in the Chianti area. It perfectly intertwines the ancient tradition with modern and ongoing research and captivates with its balanced richness.
Rocca Guicciarda was once one of the most important fiefs of the Ricasoli family, a lineage with nearly a thousand-year tradition, more closely tied to the Chianti area than anyone else. It was indeed Baron Bettino Ricasoli, around the second half of the 1800s, who disseminated the composition of grapes that would become the basis for the production of all the well-known DOCG wines and which has remained practically unchanged to this day.

The Chianti Classico "Rocca Guicciarda" is the result of a blend of Sangiovese with a small addition of Merlot and Canaiolo. After a careful selection of the grapes and fermentation in steel, the wine ages for 15 months in tonneau and large barrels, followed by 3-6 months of resting in the bottle. The choice to use two barrels of different sizes is significant as the large barrel preserves the fragrant aromaticity of the Sangiovese, while the small barrel enriches the liquid with complex and elegant toasted notes.

The Riserva "Rocca Guicciarda" reveals itself in the glass with a ruby red color that shifts to garnet. The nose, varied and extremely territorial, combines the ripeness of red fruits, such as plum and cherry, with balsamic bursts. A sip that impresses with its velvety texture, although it is enlivened by the freshness brought by the Sangiovese. A paradigmatic example of harmony and perfect balance, it finds its exaltation with classic foods such as Florentine steak, stewed meats, or aged cheeses. A wine not to be missed also due to its unbeatable quality-price ratio.
